All this heat-thinkin' has me thinking about a video I made last year of some 14- and 15-year-old girl rockers who wrote a song about the week in Portland when it was 108 degrees. The lyrics are a little hard to make out, but this is one catchy song:

It's something like, "the heat / is killing me / I need to find / a shady tree / where the sun's rays / can't catch me" and then the chorus is like, "It's 105 / I can hardly stay alive."
May I just add that the song was written in a windowless airconditioningless room when it was 105 degrees. The girls are heroes. God I loved them.
