This little piggy went to the market

All the guidebooks for Kaua'i, Hawaii, say get to the farmer's markets early. The Monday market starts at noon, so we pulled up around 11:30 a.m. Already, the crowd was sizable.

Luckily, there was a horse across the road for me to look at while we waited:

I also ate some poke (raw, marinated fish) while we waited. Ev, a vegetarian, did not, but she did hold my fish for me so I could take a photo of it:

After a while, this guy came up with a leaf and said he'd be directing traffic into the market. I swear, it was like being at the airport all over again. Disabled people and pregnant women got to go in first then the rest of us had to line up.

Finally, he blew a whistle, and we were in and out within 15 minutes.

I know exactly what market that is. And there is perhaps a photo of a much younger me sitting on the sidewalk drinking a young coconut just like that one you had.
